Looking for a Serac Tech alternative?
Serac Tech's cheapest published plan is £239 a month, and what it buys is the software. Their pricing page carries no print price at all — print-and-send is an add-on to the Enterprise tier, quoted on application — so on the plans they publish a figure for, getting the letters onto paper and into the post is yours to arrange and yours to pay for. This page prices the whole job on both sides.
The short answer
At 100 letters a month, Just Granted is £123 (£1.23 a letter) and Serac Tech is £327 (£3.27 a letter). That is £204 a month less — 62%.
We are cheaper at every volume Serac Tech publish a price for. The table further down works it out volume by volume, from their published tiers and ours.
What £239 a month leaves you to do
- The letters are still yours to post
- Printing and posting appears on their pricing page once, as an add-on to the Enterprise tier, with no figure against it. Everything that turns a list of approvals into letters on doormats sits on your side of that line: the printing, the folding, the envelopes, the stamps and the queue at the post office — or an account with a mailing house and the evening spent driving it. The second row of the table below adds the cheapest published mailing-house rate to their access fee, because comparing their software with our software and leaving the post out would be setting half a bill against a whole one.
- £239 is a floor, and their page calls it one
- Business is from £239 a month for two users and Enterprise is from £309. The word on both is “from”, and the Individual tier carries no price at all. A builder who wants two councils and posts twenty-five letters a month starts at that number and talks upwards from it. There is no floor here: an account costs nothing, and a single letter can be posted at the pay-as-you-go rate with no subscription.
- You cannot find out what it costs without a call
- Every tier on their published pricing page ends in “Get a Demo”. What you would pay depends on the coverage and the trades you ask for, and the route to that number is a salesperson's diary. Our price list is a page on this website carrying the same figures the invoice uses, and you can open an account and search without speaking to anybody.

How Serac Tech price it
Serac publish an access fee and no print price at all — print-and-send is an unpriced Enterprise add-on. This row is their published floor plus the cheapest published Stannp route at each volume: their free plan's 88p a letter up to 200 letters a month, and their £12-a-month STARTER plan's 82p above it. That addition is ours, not a price Serac quote.
Where a vendor sells tiers this table takes whichever of theirs is cheapest at that volume, which is the reading most favourable to them. Where their price card does not reach a volume the cell says "not published" — we do not extrapolate somebody else's prices.
What Serac Tech do well
Read off their own published pages, on the date above.
- They cover the whole of the UK and will tailor a plan to a specific coverage area or two trades at once.
- Their Business tier includes a dedicated customer success manager, tailored training and 24/7 support.
- They will help write your outreach material.
What we do differently
- Everything has a price on it
- The plan, the letters and the pay-as-you-go rate are all on one page of this website, and they are the figures the invoice uses. Nothing on it says “contact us”.
- You can start this afternoon
- Open an account, search the councils you work in, save the search and let it tell you when something new lands. No demo, no call, no quote.
- Council by council, with the date we last read it
- Every council we collect has its own page saying what we hold and when we last looked, so the coverage you are being sold is a list you can read rather than a number in a slide.
Before you sign with Serac Tech, ask them
These are the questions that decide what a year of this really costs you. The answers are not on Serac Tech's published pages, so ask Serac Tech rather than us — and get them in writing before you sign anything. Our own answer is under each one.
- What is the minimum term, and does it renew automatically?
- Ours is a month at a time. You end it on your own account screen and it stops at the end of that month.
- Can I change my letter myself, or does a change go through your support team?
- Ours is a box in your browser, with an exact preview of the printed page.
- How many letter templates can I keep, and can I switch between them?
- As many as you like, and you choose one per mailing.
- What does it cost to print and post a letter, and who does it?
- We do it, and the price is on our pricing page — the same number that reaches the invoice.
What this comparison does not cover
This page compares one thing: what a month of letters costs. Both services sell more than that, and these are the parts that are not in the table above.
- The row on this page is not Serac's price. It is their published £239 floor plus a print-and-post service's public letter rate, because they publish no print price at all — that addition is our arithmetic and is labelled as such wherever it appears.
- Their service around the software. Named account management, tailored training and 24/7 support come with their Business tier and are not priced on either side of this table.
What we actually hold
We collect 346 council registers often enough to publish a page about each of them. That is counted from our own rows, not claimed — every one of those councils has a page showing what we hold and when we last saw it, and the index lists the ones we do not.
Questions
- Is Just Granted cheaper than Serac Tech?
- At 100 letters a month Just Granted is £123 and Serac Tech is £327, so we are cheaper by £204 a month — 62%. Our figure is resolved from the system that bills; theirs was read off their published pricing page on 09 October 2026 and is true of their page on that day. Their figure excludes VAT; we are not VAT-registered, so nothing is added to ours.
- What does Serac Tech charge?
- Serac publish an access fee and no print price at all — print-and-send is an unpriced Enterprise add-on. This row is their published floor plus the cheapest published Stannp route at each volume: their free plan's 88p a letter up to 200 letters a month, and their £12-a-month STARTER plan's 82p above it. That addition is ours, not a price Serac quote. Read on 09 October 2026.
- Can I try Just Granted before leaving Serac Tech?
- Yes. The free tier costs nothing, needs no card and has no time limit: you can search every council we collect, save searches and get alerts. Applicant names and addresses are the part you pay for. You can also post a single letter at the pay-as-you-go rate without any subscription.
- How do I check these prices myself?
- Open their published pricing page and compare. Every competitor figure on this page is Declared — read off their own published page on the date shown — rather than Measured, and prices move. If one of ours is out of date we would rather know.
Where these numbers come from
Who publishes this
Just Granted reads the planning register of every council we cover, every week, and posts letters to the applicants for you. A free account searches all of it and posts a letter for £1.45 with no subscription. £39 a month adds the applicants' names and addresses, with 30 letters included and £1.20 each after that.
