Side by side

What each one actually gets you

The cards above are the prices. This is the same three products row by row, so the differences are in one place rather than inferred from three lists.

Print and post

What a piece of post costs

Every price here covers the print, the envelope and the postage. You approve a proof of the exact print file before anything goes out, and a letter that fails at the printer goes back on your credit balance.

Per piece
What Price When
A4 letter, one page £1.45 pay-as-you-go, no subscription
A4 letter, one page £1.20 on the plan, past the 30 included
A4 letter, two pages £1.55 one sheet, printed both sides
Postcard — DL (210 x 99mm) £1.45 one price, plan or not
Postcard — A6 (148 x 105mm) £1.50 one price, plan or not
Postcard — A5 (210 x 148mm) £1.55 one price, plan or not
Longer letters

A letter is one A4 page unless you write more. We bill the sheet, because that is what the printer bills us.

Second page (the back of the first sheet) £0.10
Each further sheet, printed both sides £0.35
Each further sheet, printed one side £0.25

So a two-page letter is £1.55 — the single-page price plus the second side — and the price is on the screen before you confirm the send, every time.

Add-ons

Two things you can bolt on, and one you can ask for

Postcard swap

£10

a month, plan required

Swaps the month's 30 included letters for 30 included postcards — any of the three sizes, at no further charge. Cancellable on its own without touching the £39 under it.

Data export

£49

a month, or £470.40 a year

Paying yearly is 20% off — £117.60 saved against twelve months. It stands alone: no plan needed, and no plan includes it. What is in the file.

One council only

£15

per council, per month — ask us

Not on sale from this page: the £39 plan is cheaper than three councils and covers the whole country. It exists for bespoke arrangements, runs a 30-day minimum term per council, and you have to ask.

How paying works

Everything is paid for before it happens

The month in advance, and each letter out of prepaid credit before it is printed. Nothing is invoiced afterwards and there is no bill at the end of the month to be surprised by.

Letter credit

Letters past the plan's 30, and every letter on free, come out of credit you topped up first. Top-ups are £10, £25, £50 or £100.

  • Credit does not expire. There is no date on it and we do not take it back.
  • You can have it back in money. Ask, and the unspent balance goes back to the card that paid. No charge for that, and we do not ask why.
  • A letter that fails at the printer is credited back. You pay for post that went out.
  • Card payments are handled by Stripe. Your card details never touch our servers.

What a month looks like

One month on the plan with 40 letters sent.

Just Granted, one month £39.00
Letters × 30 (included) £0.00
Letters × 10, on-plan rate £1.20 £12.00

£7.00 kept by being on the plan, this month

Which one is cheaper

What a month comes to, at the volume you actually write

Both ways to buy, at 7 monthly letter counts, with the cheaper one named. Worked from the same prices as the cards above, so this table cannot be out of date while they are right.

The free column buys no names, so at the same price it is a different product: on free you can see every application and write to the 3 applicants a mailing shows you, and the rest of the names are what the £39 is for.

Free, exactly

What costs nothing, and where it stops

Free gets you
  • Every council we collect, nationally — not a chosen few
  • Every application, the site's full postcode, its pin on the map, the proposal, the dates, the decision, and a link to the council's own case page
  • Filters, saved searches and the weekly email
  • The first 3 applicant names in full on any mailing you build
  • A letter, printed and posted, at £1.45 — no subscription, no minimum
Free stops at
  • The applicant's name and street address. Hidden past the first 3 on a mailing. That is the paid part, and it is the only paid part.
  • 28 days of history. A new subscription also opens 28 days of back applications; free is the same window.
  • No file to take away. The export is its own product at £49 a month.

No card is needed to start and nothing expires. The free tier is the trial — there is no separate trial period to run out.

Pricing questions

The money questions, answered

The general questions are on the front page. These are the ones about the bill.

Is there a setup fee, a contract, or a charge per user?

None of the three. There is no joining fee, no minimum term on the £39 plan, and no per-seat charge — bring your whole team in on their own logins at no extra cost. The only per-council charge that exists at all is the bespoke arrangement above, which you have to ask for.

What happens if I cancel?

You stop being charged, and you keep the month you have paid for in full — right to the last day, names and all. Cancelling triggers no further payment and no exit fee. It does not refund the period you are in: a month already paid for is not refunded, and it is not taken away from you either. After it ends you drop back to free, which costs nothing and keeps your searches, templates and letter history.

Do your prices include VAT?

Every price on this page excludes VAT, and we are not VAT registered, so nothing is added to it: £39 is what leaves your account and £1.45 is what a letter costs. If that changes — if we cross the threshold and register — VAT would be added at the rate in force, and we would tell you before it happened.

What does a letter cost, all in?

£1.45 with no subscription, or £1.20 on the plan once the 30 included letters are used — and nothing at all for those 30. That is the whole price: print, envelope, second-class postage and the proof you approve first. There is no per-mailing fee, no handling charge and no minimum order. A second page adds £0.10, and the exact figure is on screen before you confirm the send.

What happens to a letter that does not get posted?

It goes back on your credit balance, in full, and you can spend it on the next one. If a supplier problem stops part of a mailing, the rest of it is held rather than failing letter by letter, so you are never charged for post that did not happen. You are not charged for a letter we could not print.

Do unused included letters roll over?

No. The 30 come with the month and do not carry into the next one. Prepaid credit is the opposite — that is money you have put in, it never expires, and you can ask for it back. So if you want to bank sending capacity, top up credit rather than relying on a quiet month.

Can I just buy the data, without letters?

Yes — the data export is £49 a month, or £470.40 a year, and it needs no plan. One thing to know before you buy it: the file carries exactly what your own screens show you, so without the £39 plan the applicant name and address columns come out redacted. The export sells the file; the plan sells the identity. Most people who want names in a spreadsheet need both.

Can I resell the data, or pass it to a partner?

Not on any of the prices on this page. What you buy is the right to use the data in your own business and to write to the applicants you pick — not to resell it, republish it, build a competing dataset from it, or pass it to someone else. A national file, a redistribution right or a licence to train a model on it would be a separate written agreement at a separate price, and we are not selling one today. Ask if you need one and we will tell you honestly whether we can.

Can I see names and addresses on the free tier?

The first 3 on any mailing you build, in full, so you can send a real letter and see whether it works before paying anything monthly. Past that they are hidden until you are on the plan. Everything else — every council, every application, the site postcode, the map, the proposal, the dates, the decision, the last 28 days of history — is there on free.

How do top-ups work, and do they expire?

You add credit in one of £10, £25, £50 or £100, and each letter is taken from it before it is printed. It does not expire, we do not take it back, and if you would rather have the money than the credit you can ask for the unspent balance to go back to the card that paid — no charge, and we do not ask why.

Am I charged for someone who has opted out?

No. The suppression list is checked again at the moment of sending, not just when you picked the list, so a letter to someone who has asked us to stop is never printed and never paid for. Opt-outs are permanent and apply across every customer — nobody gets to work around one, including us.

How does this compare with the other planning-lead services?

We are aiming at roughly a third of what the established services charge, and the thing that makes that possible is that you are not paying for an account manager or a per-council bundle. The arithmetic is set out in full on what planning leads cost and service by service under the alternatives, with their published prices quoted and dated. Where a competitor's price is not published, we say so rather than guessing it.

Looking is free. Start there.

Looking costs nothing at all, and it is £1.45 to see whether the letter works. That is the entire risk.

The full terms, including everything above about cancelling, refunds and what you may do with the data, are in the terms of service.
